Abstract

Abstract Diversity in hiring has become an important topic over the past several years. While there are numerous popular and academic articles published about the need for diversity, many are focused on hiring faculty in higher education rather than on hiring in health professions advising in specific. This article provides an overview of preparing for a successful candidate search through a justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion lens. Readers will find opportunities for reflection as well as practical tools and resources for developing an equitable search process, diversity-centered candidate application review, and inclusive interview process.
