Tracing its roots from the Vedic period to modern times, the article outlines the eightfold path of yoga, emphasizing its integral role in spiritual development according to Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. The discussion on health benefits encompasses cardiovascular and respiratory fitness, mental well-being, and stress management. Methodologically, the review employs a systematic approach, utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) checklist.
