Abstract

We consider the problem of harmonic retrieval via low resolution sampling, i.e., estimating the parameters of sinusoidal signals in noise from coarse quantized measurement samples. We first derive the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB), i.e., the best performance bound of unbiased estimators, for the sinusoidal parameter estimates. We also introduce a cyclic algorithm for harmonic retrieval from low-bit quantized measurement samples. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the cyclic algorithm as compared to the corresponding CRB.
