Abstract

Power producers (PPs) of modern power system are keeping comfort of consumers on highest priority. Keeping this fact in consideration, power quality issues are taken care by PPs diligently. Estimation of harmonics in current and voltage signals is an essential process in order to decide mitigation and filtering techniques. Power cleaning procedure majorly depends upon determination of phase and amplitude components of harmonics. Recent years, application of various metaheuristic algorithms have been increased in harmonic estimation. This work is an application of Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) Algorithm for estimation of harmonics, sub harmonics and inter harmonics component from the fundamental waves. A fair comparison is established and presented with some recently published algorithms and previous reported work. It is observed that performance of TLBO is competitive.
