Abstract

This paper proposes a harmonic-suppression technique for a square microstrip-antenna design. In this study, the possible resonance at the 2nd and 3rd harmonic frequencies were effectively suppressed by adding loads to the antenna's feeding line, and the antenna performances for fundamental-mode operation were well retained. The design and experimental results are discussed and simple design principles for harmonic suppression of the proposed antennas are presented. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
