Abstract

A three phase diode bridge rectifier which is regarded as a conventional AC/DC converter can distort the source currents when it is connected to a grid/mains supply and results in power quality issues for loads when connected to its vicinity. Vienna rectifier is an AC/DC converter which has the inherent characteristics of both diode bridge rectifier and a DC/DC boost converter. Vienna rectifier can ensure sinusoidal mains current, low voltage stress on electronic switches and controllable voltage output. In this paper a detailed analysis of Vienna rectifier and its space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM)is presented and the simulation of Vienna rectifier with SVPWM is carried out in MATLAB/ Simulink.
