A new iterative procedure for a numerical analysis of Mössbauer spectra in terms of higher-order harmonics is outlined and tested for 119Sn simulated and measured Mössbauer spectra of chromium. Its usefulness to study spin- and charge-density waves of chromium is demonstrated.
