Lee is an associate professor in the Department of English at UC Berkeley, where he is also an affiliated faculty member at the Center for Korean Studies and the Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies. His first book, The Ethnic Avant-Garde: Minority Cultures and World Revolution, will be published by Columbia University Press this fall. He is currently co-editing a volume entitled Comintern Aesthetics, which will focus on the global circulation of leftist cultures under the Third International.
