Abstract

Electrical energy in the form of alternating current can be converted to direct current using rectifiers. Three phase pulse width modulated rectifiers compared to diode and thyristor rectifiers offer advantages like bidirectional power flow, unity power factor, control of DC-link voltage etc. This paper deals with control of DC voltage and unity power factor operation of PWM rectifier using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation based Vector Control technique. A transient analysis of the system is carried out. A 200V, 3φ PWM rectifier is simulated using MATLAB to verify and validate control method. A prototype of 3φ PWM rectifier is implemented using DSP TMS320F28069 and results obtained are presented.
