Abstract

Starting from the general expressions for the transport coefficients, which were derived from the correlation function formulae, and using an expression for the two particle time correlation function, first obtained by Ono, the shear viscosity, bulk viscosity and heat conductivity of a not too dense gas of hard spheres are calculated. The results are shown to be identical to the results of the theory of Enskog.
