Abstract

The present study was conducted upon 170 government and private school teachers of Punjab, India. The purpose was to study the differences in the happiness level of the teachers of two sectors and its impact upon the psychological well-being of teachers moderated by self-esteem. Instruments used were Oxford Happiness Questionnaire by Argyle and Hills, Rosenberg’s self-esteem Questionnaire, and Psychological Well-Being Scale by Bhogle and Prakash. The data analysis was done using Jamovi software to get S.D and t values. The results showed no difference in the happiness level of the teachers of the government and private schools, and happiness significantly impacts the psychological well-being of teachers moderated by self-esteem. The study further mentions the limitations and future recommendations. Keywords
