Abstract

There are many ways to communicate with each other, one is to use nonverbal behavior which has a meaning. In different cultures, the same gesture may have different meanings and this may cause misunderstanding. In this paper we describe the conceptual framework of how to learn cultural differences in nonverbal behavior via a simulated crowd and discuss the cultural differences in greeting gestures between Thai and Japanese cultures. In a human crowd, when people see others interacting with other people, their interactions differ according to culture.
