Abstract

The handle and other mechanical properties of selectively bleached and unbleached fabrics knitted from fine yak hair are evaluated by means of the FAST system. Results of amino acid analysis and SEM investigations are used as a basis for discussing the reasons for handle impairment. An improved process for better handle and less fiber damage is suggested.
