Abstract

PHOENIX — It's a nightmare situation: Your institution receives a threat, and it's up to you and your campus security team to evaluate how seriously to act and what steps to take to ensure safety for your campus and as little disruption in services as possible. At the recent International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators annual conference, Tom King, chief of police at Haverford College; and Michael Hill, chief of police at Swarthmore College, shared best practices for assessing communicated threats based on their experiences at their respective institutions.
