Abstract

Our understanding of neuroscience has grown considerably since Santiago Ramon y Cajal first recognized neurons as the individual signaling elements of the brain. More than 100 years later, Handbook of Neurochemistry and Molecular Neurobiology, 3rd edition provides a comprehensive, detailed review of our current understanding of the basic operations of the brain. In particular, this handbook focuses on the various chemical molecules that allow neurons to communicate with one another.
