Abstract

An orbit behavior of a Hamiltonian system in two degrees offreedom in a neighborhood of a quadratically tangent homoclinicorbit to a saddle-focus equilibrium is studied, the orbitstructure within the level of the saddle-focus is described. Weshow the existence of an intrinsic parameter (a modulus) whichdetermines types of invariant nonuniform hyperbolic subsets. Thesesubsets are described by means of symbolic dynamics with countablymany states. Multi-round tangent and transversal homoclinic orbitsto the saddle-focus have also shown to exist.
