Abstract
This chapter introduces the concept of a Hamiltonian system of ordinary differential equations, sets forth basic notation, reviews some basic facts about the solutions of differential equations, and gives several examples in detail. The primary example is the gravitational N-body problem, which is given a sizable introduction.KeywordsHamiltonian SystemPhase PortraitPoisson BracketSolution CurveKepler ProblemThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
