Abstract

This new edition represents an outstanding revision of an already excellent book. The format and illustrations are quite good. The additions of the fine print section make the book even more valuable. The chapters on examination of the patient with closed head trauma, on the salivary glands, and on the neck and breast are especially well done. The book is primarily designed for the medical student; however, this recent edition makes this book a valuable asset for the library of any resident regardless of his specialty. The purist will disagree with the author's definition of shock; however, the book's primary objective is accomplished very well. I would recommend this book to any student of medicine regardless of his specialty.
