Abstract A new distribution map is provided for Halotydeus destructor (Tucker) (Acarina, Penthaleidae) (Red-legged Earth Mite (Australia), Black Sand Mite (South Africa)) Hosts: Pasture plants (notably clover) cereal and other field and market-garden crops. Information is given on the geographical distribution in AFRICA, Southern Rhodesia, Union of South Africa, AUSTRALASIA, Australia, New Zealand.
