Abstract

Reactions between the halometalate-containing solutions (Sb2O3 in HCl or HBr) and halide salts of halogen-substituted quinolinium cations resulted in a series of haloantimonate complexes: (3-BrQuinH)4[Sb2X10] (X = Cl (1), Br (2)), (5-BrQuinH)2{[SbBr5]} (3), (1-Me-3-BrQuin)2[Sb2Cl8] (4) and (1-Me-3-BrQuin)3[Sb3Br12] (5). Their structures were determined using X-ray diffractometry; analysis of non-covalent interactions in crystalline state was performed by theoretical methods.
