Abstract
The properties of an inviscid fluid exhibiting the Hall effect is investigated in the limit of infinite electrical conductivity and mobility. The magnetic field strength and the fluid velocity are found to obey the equations B = μρ/σ curl V and V = -(μ/σμ0) curl B (m.k.s.a. units) where ρ, σ and μ denote mass-density, conductivity and charge carrier mobility. Some physical interpretations and applications are given.
