Abstract

The normal-state Hall effect of Nb/Cu multilayers is negative in contrast to the positive Hall effect in Nb films. In the mixed state there is no sign reversal of the Hall voltage but a temperature and magnetic field broadening of the Hall resistance, R xy, which is correlated with the broadening of the sheet resistance, R xx. The temperature scan of R xy shows a peak-like anomaly. A model for the normal-state Hall effect in multilayers is proposed.
