Abstract
The paper presents the concept and modernization of filament extruder for use in FDM Technology, through the implementation of the filament diameter sensor. Issues related to the process of designing solutions and their adaptation to the existing device were described, and the decision to develop their own design was justified. The issues, advantages and disadvantages of the solutions used from the perspective of reducing the costs of producing materials on site were also raised.
