At a density of 10' g , strong interactions between particles can give a significant contribution (Cameron, Cohen, Langer, and Rosen). At densities of > 10' g , production of new particles has to be taken into account. Hagedom has recently giv%n an analytic equation of state for this regime. We have explored the effect of this new equation of state for supranuclear densities on the equilibrium conflgnrations of neutron stars.
