Abstract
Abstract In experimental dogs, microspheres were used to measure regional flow following somatostatin therapy. Circulatory dissociation between splanchnic and non-splanchnic organs could be demonstrated. The splanchnic blood flow was reduced particularly in the gastric fundus and corpus mucosal layer. Blood flow in the pancreas, gall bladder and duodenum was unaffected.
