Abstract

Background: Haemochromatosis is a metabolic disorder of iron metabolism, most often associated with liver cirrhosis and diabetes/bronze diabetes, but in some cases it presents with symptoms and signs of heart failure. Pathological deposits of iron produces heart infiltration and predominantly diastolic heart failure. History: A 26-year-old man, was admitted, with the diagnosis of primary dilated cardiomyopathy, with signs of severe congestive heart failure—NYHA Class IV. The clinical outcome was complicated by ventricular rhythm disturbances, paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia with left bundle branch block (LBBB).
