Abstract

We discuss how to decipher the nature of near-threshold exotic states from ex perimental line shapes and lattice QCD simulations. A brief overview of the effective-field-theory approach for analyzing such states is presented, highlight ing the special role played by the longest-range pion exchange interaction. The method is exemplified through an analysis of the recently discovered doubly-charm state Tcc(3875)+.
