Abstract

Recently, the requirement for high-accuracy measurements of atmospheric trace species has increased for validation of theory in atmospheric chemistry. The long-pass differential optical absorption (DOAS) method in the UV/visible region developed by Platt et al.1-3 is one of the most promising methods. Platt et al. succeeded in measurement of CH2O, O3, HNO2, NO3, and SO2. The DOAS system consists of an artificial light source such as a xenon high-pressure lamp and a high-speed scanning spectrometer.
