Abstract

Introduction. The practice of holding the Hackathon in Ukraine has not yet become stable. Hackathon is occasional, not used by higher education institutions and industry, as a powerful tool for learning and innovation.Purpose. The purpose of the article is to study the experience of Hackathon in Ukraine and the world and to offer its system for higher military educational establishments, military units and units of information technologies and cyber security of the security and defense sector of Ukraine.Methods. Analysis; synthesis; classification and systematization of theoretical data.Result. The article analyzes the formation and development of a system of conducting competitions in the field of information technologies and cybersecurity of NATO member states, in the format TIDE Hackathon. The cyclical nature of their conduct was investigated. The method of preparation and holding of competitions is established. The Hackathon system in Ukraine is proposed.Conclusion. Participation in the TIDE Hackathon and its national version provides the opportunity for mutual learning and mutual enrichment of knowledge, and the achievement of mutual understanding between the IT specialists of the security and defense sector of Ukraine. It is important to involve young people in the competition, their upbringing and training on the best examples, methods and standards of NATO, the United States and the EU.
