Abstract

In this paper, the problem of designing a H 2-optimal stable feedback controller for a linear time-invariant system is considered. An algorithm is presented for obtaining such a stable controller. The degradation in the system performance is minimized while maintaining the closed-loop internal stability. For scalar systems, this is achieved by minimizing a non-linear objective function of a parameter vector subject to non-linear inequality constraints.
