Abstract

Abstract: Gynecomastia is a common condition that is frequently evaluated by endocrinologists. In most cases, male breast enlargement results from an excess of stimulatory estrogenic influences over inhibitory androgenic effects on the breast. Diagnostic evaluation is directed at excluding breast malignancy and establishing the cause of the gynecomastia. Medical therapy with tamoxifen appears to be frequently effective.
