Abstract

Over the last two decades, women's entrepreneurship has drawn attention because of its noteworthy socioeconomic impact in every field including tourism industry. However, despite the well-documented benefits of women's involvement in entrepreneurship, they continue to confront challenges that restrict them from achieving heights. The existing literature mainly discusses the challenges women face in their entrepreneurial journey, and very few studies address the positively changing scenario. Therefore, this chapter explores the shifting and changing scenario in women's entrepreneurship and to identify what challenges have been overcome and what continues to restrict the growth of women's entrepreneurship. The study attempts to present the challenges and enablers that have changed business dynamics for women. The chapter also analyses how women's entrepreneurship has transformed over time and digs deep into the extant literature to understand if the business environments have become conducive for women over generations. The authors follow an inductive approach to achieve the objectives.
