Abstract

In the present paper we study the coupling conditions for propagation of planar guided waves in an isotropic semi-infinite plane subject to initial electromechanical fields. We obtain four different waves, two polarized in the sagittal plane, and two polarized transverse-horizontal, generalizing the classical guided waves from the case without initial fields. The initial electric field induces the electrostrictive effect for two of the waves. Finally, we analyze the corresponding mechanical and electric boundary conditions. As an example, we define and study a generalized Rayleigh-type wave.
