Abstract

This work describes the methods of beam current measurement and proposes the construction of an easily fabricated Faraday cup for use in any side-entry transmission electron microscope. Moreover, a method of calculating the dose of electrons with the use of a digital camera is proposed and verified with the use of two slightly different microscope setups. The method turned out to be particularly useful for estimating the smallest doses of electrons used in the imaging of particularly sensitive samples.
