Abstract

Infrared imaging guided missile (IIGM) is one of the hotspots in the research and development of military weapons, and the research and development process of IIGM has the characteristics of long time and high economic cost. The guidance performance is a vital index of IIGM and a reasonable evaluation method for guidance performance can promote the research and development process. Generally, comprehensive evaluation method and scene simulation method are used to evaluate the guidance performance of IIGM. However, comprehensive evaluation method would lead to serious subjective error and scene simulation method is incapable of highlighting the key factors which affect the guidance performance. In this article, we propose a guidance performance evaluation (GPE) method for IIGM. According to the terminal guidance process (TGP) of IIGM, we build a model for TGP of IIGM. In the proposed model, key factors that affect TGP significantly are extracted and the relationships between the key factors are depicted explicitly. In order to make the model understood easily, extended object-oriented Petri net (EOOPN) is selected as model tool. The effectiveness of the proposed EOOPN model for TGP of IIGM is demonstrated by contrast experiments in TOPS scene simulation, a commercial software developed by Tiltan Software Engineering Ltd. This work indicates that the proposed GPE method for IIGM is reasonable and objective.
