Abstract
This article aims to stimulate research to address gaps in the Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use so that more women have access to the most appropriate contraceptive methods based on safety and effectiveness for their particular condition and characteristics. It identifies the three conditions for which further research is needed; contraception for obese women contraception for breastfeeding women and contraception for women with HIV or AIDS.
