Abstract

This report for the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) (now Research England), proposes guidance for standardising quantitative indicators of impact within Research Excellence Framework (REF) case studies. We used a blend of text mining and quantitative methods to develop the guidance which is intended to inform the development of the criteria and guidance for the preparation of impact case studies in REF 2021.
