Abstract
In a recent Special Section published in IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics we introduced smart electronics <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref1" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">[1]</xref> . We presented a set of papers which were selected after rigorous review with a scope of artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) approaches used for various levels of system abstractions, from device-level to system-level. In one school of thought energy-smart, security-smart, and response-smart are 3 dimensions of smart electronic systems.
