Abstract

Mobile and fixed networks, along with service delivery platforms, must answer to the constantly growing highly broadband accesses, massive data usage, and very low latency services. They should ensure flexible and faster service revenues, and reduce expenditure and operational costs of next generation (5G and beyond) networks. Also, the generation and expansion of Internet of Things, Internet of Services, and the blooming of Network integrated Cloud Services have pushed the horizon of new computing paradigms and service-aware and multi-purpose networks characterized by proximity, low latency, high bandwidth, and real-time processing.
