Abstract

When I returned to England in 1981, after five years in Australia at the Curriculum Development Centre, I quickly became aware of several major shifts in the curriculum field. Events of the past year have tended to reinforce my opinion that decisive and perhaps irreversible changes are occurring in some key areas of national policy and structure. Other changes represent a continuance and a strengthening of earlier movements.
