Abstract
The article describes the guerilla war in Yugoslavia during the Second World War. The guerilla war is one of the basic forms of the war of liberation waged by nations. Irregular actions which have a character of the guerilla war were already known in ancient times. This article is an introduction to a broader dissertation on fights in the occupied Yugoslavia. However, it is not an outline history of the resistance movement in the years 1941–1945, but only the presentation of the ways of tactical solutions on the basis of the Battle of Kozara. Although the term guerilla war is not used to describe actions conducted by the Taliban in Afghanistan or the former dictator of Iraq Saddam Hussein, their operations are were irregular fights and are conducted by means of guerilla methods. That is why the necessity to return to research on an outline history of Yugoslavia is so important. Additionally, the learning about the methods of organization and conducting guerilla operations should constitute a basis for military-historical education for corps of every armed force.
