Abstract

Healthcare-associated Clostridium difficile infection (HA-CDI) remains a significant challenge in healthcare settings worldwide. Effective control measures are essential to mitigate the spread of this pathogen. One critical aspect of prevention is the implementation of proper hand hygiene protocols among healthcare workers and patients. This paper explores the pivotal role of effective hand hygiene in cross-infection control to prevent HA-CDI. It examines current strategies, challenges, and best practices for promoting adherence to hand hygiene protocols in healthcare facilities. The review underscores the urgent need for comprehensive hand hygiene initiatives as a cornerstone of HA-CDI prevention efforts.
