Abstract

Unfortunately, when members of your nonprofit's board are nearing the end of their terms, they might not be as engaged as they should be. For many board members, the end of their terms of service come after many years of commitment to the organization, putting in time and effort to help it succeed and build a solid foundation for future success. Transitioning off the board means their schedules will be a little less full, their time a little more free. In the final months, they might be thinking more about what comes next than what they still have to do before their terms expire.
