Abstract
This research deals with the lubricant flow visualization and effect of frictional property in textured slide surface. The micro texture was expected reduce the oil lift on the slide way surface, so dimple diameter and depth was designed based on kept oil volume on the slide surface. Flow analysis and lubricant flow visualization experiment were performed to know a lubricant flow around the dimple. From these simulations and experiments, it became clear that lubricant is moving slowly around the dimple. Finally, slide experiment was performed by unique friction experiment machine, and the surface during slide oil lift has been confirmed that significantly reduced.
