Abstract

Raw materials of 2-(4-hydroxystyryl)-1-methylquinolinium 4-methylbenzenesulfonate (OHQ-T) crystals were synthesized, and OHQ-T crystals were grown by spontaneous nucleation method, which have shown a good potential to be used as a Terahertz emitter. The x-ray single crystal diffraction of the crystal has been studied. The functional groups in the samples were determined by studying the NMR and FTIR spectra of the crystals. The linear optical properties of the crystal were studied by using UV–vis-NIR spectroscopy and the optical constants of the crystal were calculated theoretically. The electrical properties of crystals were studied. The solid parameters such as plasma energy, penn gap, fermi energy and electron polarizability of crystals are calculated.
