Abstract
C60 single crystals were grown from the vapor by a continuous-pulling technique. Large C60 crystals up to a size of 4.5 × 3.0 × 1.5 mm3 were obtained. The structural perfection of the as-grown crystals was examined by X-ray topography and etching. The “grown-in” dislocation density was estimated to be of the order of 104 cm−2. Slip systems, which are introduced in C60 crystals by microindentation, were investigated using an etching method.
