Abstract
Single-crystal ZnO nanowires were successfully grown on modified well-aligned carbonnanotube (CNT) arrays by a hydrothermal process. The pre-deposited ZnO grains on theCNTs served as the nucleation sites for the growth of ZnO nanowires. The attached growthof ZnO nanowires on the well-aligned CNT arrays formed a 3D configuration. The 3Dhybrid nanostructured material could find application in sensors and other electronic oroptoelectronic devices.
