Abstract

AbstractThe unconventional amylolytic yeast Candida ingeniosa showed a high degradation efficiency of a starchy substrate. Accumulation of maltose and maltotriose attained its maximal value (0.69 and 1.70gL−1) at constant bioprocess pH 5.0, after 16h of cultivation at 28°C. Maximal amylolytic activity (2.76UmL−1) followed maximal biomass concentration in batch culture. After 56h of incubation, the accumulation of biomass reached up to 1.96gL−1.
