Abstract

The human urinary calculi are mainly formed from Calcium Oxalate Monohydrate, Magnesium Ammonium Phosphate Hexahydrate and Uric acid crystals. It is mainly classified into two types of hydrates, Calcium Oxalate Monohydrate (whewellite) and Calcium Oxalate Dehydrate (weddelite). Cadmium is a risk factor which is associated with kidney disease, artherosclerosis, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. The Cadmium doped Calcium Oxalate Monohydrate (CdCOM) crystals are grown by single diffusion gel growth method. The grown crystals are characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM-EDX and UV-Visible analysis. The human urinary calculi are mainly formed from Calcium Oxalate Monohydrate, Magnesium Ammonium Phosphate Hexahydrate and Uric acid crystals.
