Abstract

The investigations of heterogeneous equilibria in the systems for crystal growth of yttrium iron garnets are presented in this paper. The solubility of Y3Fe5O12 in different compositions of solvent, the pseudoternary diagram (PbO-PbF2-B2O3) - (Y2O3) - (Fe2O3) with variable ratios of solvent components is considered. The data on measurements of the density, volatility, viscosity and electrical conductivity of molten salt solutions are given. Methods of growth of bulk crystals of yttrium iron garnets are discussed. The connection of crystal growth conditions with morphology of crystals and different growth mechanism of surfaces is noted.
